So Juniper's latest 'spin' is to create a Global Infranet. Interestingly we were discussing the benefits of a closed network to as a key component towards Anti-Spam. The global infranet idea is interesting but is it truly different from being an outsourced network? Juniper is obviously trying to extend their customer reach to include the enterprise, as the Tier1 Telco death spiral continues. Can the telcos do anything to increase margins? What is the marginal return on a pure network? Zero! Hence the price erosion. Nice try Juniper, but the strategy is half-baked, back to the drawing board.
