I don't understand Sun at all? Why in the world are they pushing their StarOffice Suite? The reality is that they can never pull any significant share of the desktop market from Micrsoft. By shipping a lower priced office alternative solution, they are not going to destroy the Microsoft empire. This isn't about price, it has to do with economies of scale in terms of user familiarity. Having said that why not defend your home turf? Why not explore a merger with Oracle? Why not become the leader is servers, of all kinds? Simply because McNeely is bordering on manic obsession in his 'fight' against Micrsoft, hey buddy your share price is @ $3, pay attention to your own business.
