Now the pundits say that eBay is going to slump. After all how can it continue to grow? What goes up must come down. Well its simple, even if eBay has maxmized its growth in the US for personal products, it will now grow by acquisition [internationally]. A solid staple for achieving growth. While Bubblegen may argue the long term costs and value of incremental marginal returns from a M&A strategy, I believe with the right managment team it is possible [Cisco's team led by Mike Volpi in the Roaring 90s was excellent]. I believe the greater challenge for eBay will be recreating the 'community' atmosphere in international markets, the social network is a key component of eBay success.
